Blackpink has had an incredible year. The K-pop band kicked off their new album era right with “How You Like That,” a stomping anthem that topped the charts worldwide. They also lent their vocals to a song on Lady Gaga’s Chromatica album, “Sour Candy,” not to mention recruited Selena Gomez for one of their own songs, “Ice Cream.” The latter track appears on Blackpink’s new album—aptly titled The Album—which hit streaming services on Friday, October 2. Coming in at 24 minutes and a tight eight tracks, The Album is pure adrenaline from start to finish, stuffed with the maximalist bass drops and sugary pop hooks Blackpink is known for. In a music landscape dominated by downtempo and minimalist songs, The Album‘s unapologetically booming sound is a welcome change. I forgot pop music could be this fun.

Gomez isn’t the only feature on The Album, either: Cardi B lays down a verse on the plucky, effervescent “Bet You Wanna,” a highlight on the record.

The rap queen teased her feature on Instagram writing, “BLACK PINK album is out now !! Sooo cute! Im feature on ‘bet you wanna’ I love this song !”

Cardi also tweeted about the song, joking that it was hard for her to record a verse with no curse words. “Ok my last tweet of the night …It really hard for me to do a verse with no curse words and PG.I really wanted to say I bet if you get me WET I’ll still be on fire,” she tweeted. “I’ll be reposting tomorrow the whole day …make sure ya stream ‘BET YOU WANNA.’”

She added, “No lie tho ,serious talk I really see this song on a girly movie .Like a girl trip movie,or like the last song they play on a movie when the girl gets marry and live happily ever after. What ya think ? Bardipink your area.” Agreed. Netflix, write the rom-com!
